Process

I offer a free 15-minute phonecall to establish whether you would like to come in and meet me, and to answer any initial questions you might have.

On deciding you would like to meet me, we will book in an initial session – this can either be arranged during our free phone call, or simply by email using the contact form.  This session will give you the chance to experience me as a therapist, to have a sense of my therapeutic setting, and to tell me a little about yourself, including what brings you to therapy at this point in your life.

During the initial meeting we will have the opportunity to decide whether we are best placed to work effectively together. There is no commitment at this stage, you may need time to reflect, and sometimes an additional meeting is needed to make this decision.

If we decide that we will continue working together, we will commit to an initial six sessions, whether in person or online, depending on your preference. This session, and all future sessions, are 50 minutes, and will be held at the same time and place every week.

On the sixth session we will review our work and look forwards to what the process might hold.

Setting

For face-to-face sessions, I work in this quiet, private therapy room, which is in my home in Nailsworth, with its own separate entrance. For my location see my ‘contact’ page. If you have any disability or impairment that means that you will have difficulty accessing my therapy room, please call me so we can explore options to overcome this. There are three steps down to my door, from street level.

I also offer remote sessions via Zoom or telephone. I am well placed to offer guidance on making the most of remote sessions; please let me know if you are interested in hearing more about creating your own ‘safe space’ for these sessions.

Fees

All sessions are 50 minutes.
